UNFORTUNATELY, BECAUSE OF THE LIMIT OF OUR SMALL GROUP RESERVATION AT EL ALMA, WE NEED TO STOP TAKING RSVP’S. WE WILL PLAN AHEAD FOR A DIFFERENT RESTAURANT FOR NEXT YEAR. WE APPRECIATE YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING WITH US!

Please join your fellow Ivy+ alumni in volunteering for Thanksgiving at the H-E-B Feast of Sharing at the Palmer Events Center on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 from 3:00-6:30 p.m., followed by an evening social at El Alma at 7:00 p.m.!

Note: This event is two days BEFORE Thanksgiving Day. Families can volunteer with children 14 and older. If you would like to bring a child under 14, please email Alexa.Singer@uwatx.org for approval.

This volunteer experience is truly wonderful for both the volunteers and for the individuals and families who are receiving a free full Thanksgiving meal (which includes turkey breast or glazed ham, cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes, vegetables medley, rolls and pie). Live bands come together to perform holiday music, and there are lots of fun activities for families. It's a wonderful opportunity for all of us Ivy+ alumni to come together for a beautiful cause!

There are multiple volunteer opportunities available, but the spots fill up really fast: volunteer check-in, coat check, wait staff, table busing/clean up/recycle, drink station, row captain, greeters, plate prep, hostess/ seating, pie prep/server, children’s area, tag-a-kid, and photo station.

Please take a look at your schedules this week, because we would love for you to volunteer with us! Alumni need to sign up individually at this link. You go to ‘Find a Volunteer Opportunity, enter "Feast of Sharing" in the keywords box, scroll down to select a task in the 3:00-6:30 p.m. time slot, and then fill out the required waivers.

Once you have done this, please RSVP below, so we can give El Alma exact numbers for the group reservation and also provide instructions on where to meet up before and after the event. If you can’t show up last minute to volunteer, please let us know as soon as possible so we can inform Alexa.
