Harvard & Berkeley Invite the Ivy+ to a Holiday Happy Hour

Your Harvard and Berkeley Alumni Clubs are so excited to invite the Ivy+ community to a holiday-themed happy hour on Sat 12/14 from 6-9pm!!

Event admission is $25, and you will: enjoy live jazz performances of holiday songs; relax in a hot tub; make s’mores at the fire pit; visit the karaoke station; play at a full length bocce court; and unwind in hammocks with friends. Admission also includes a selection of cocktails, wine, beer and light bites. And as always, all your +1s are welcome!! Columbia Business Alumni Club President Matt Fox, and his fiancee Mercedes Lorenzo, will be hosting the afterparty at the Summit with French DJ Massane at 10pm.

This year, and moving forward, a portion of our ticket sales will benefit a local well-established charity. This year, your tickets will support Project Graduation at the Center for Child Protection, a center whose mission is to reduce trauma for children during the investigation and prosecution of crimes against children who have been physically abused, sexually abused, or have witnessed a violent crime. At 18 years old, kids age out of the foster care system, and many must begin a new life for themselves without the benefit of support. CCP serves 60-80 teens every year. Your tickets will provide funds for their ‘Life Kits’- basic household items that will help these teens get started on the path to success.

We also highly encourage (but not require) our event attendees to bring a gift for their Kid’s Closet. Examples of these holiday gifts are brand-new clothes, shoes, diapers, school supplies, and trust-building board games. See their Amazon wishlist here. Harvard alum and Center for Child Protection board member Pete Phillips will address how and why CCP has been so impactful in our community.

We also want to re-acquaint you with a well-known nonprofit United Way that connects corporate resources to community needs. Here in Austin, they focus on early childhood education and connecting people to resources to break cycles of poverty. We hope to form a long-term partnership with them as they reinvigorate their Emerging Leaders program after COVID to develop the next generation of philanthropic and community service leaders in Austin. We’ll have a representative from the United Way of Austin explain their vision and how guests can contribute and participate in their extensive charitable network.

The live jazz performances that evening will be sponsored by new Austin nonprofit Social Stimulus, a mission-driven social club that leverages the city as their canvas, and partners with Austin’s most vibrant leaders, hottest establishments, and iconic venues to host events that celebrate—and support—the city’s top cultural and civic organizations while cultivating a spirit of community among those who are passionate about giving back. Social Stimulus is launching March 2025.

RSVP here! The event address will be disclosed after you register. Please fill out whether you want to share your contact info with other attendees post-event. We look forward to celebrating the holidays with you and contributing to all the good that’s being done in our community!!
